Design and supply of a fire and explosion protection system for an electrical transformer box

Enedis, France’s main grid operator and electricity distributor, wants to secure a transformeragainst the risk of fire and explosion.

A transformer installed in an urban environment is subject to strict integration constraints to ensure the safety of people working in the source substation and the surrounding neighborhood.

Enedis asked AXILAB to implement a complete fire and explosion protection solution in the lodge. The equipment includes ventilation vents with flame-arrestor valves to prevent the spread of flames in the event of a fire, and fuse walls to ensure immediate depressurization of the enclosure.

The solution implemented by AXILAB guarantees Enedis the safety of all concerned, the ventilation level required for optimal equipment operation, and compliance with noise standards for the neighborhood.
