Data Center: acoustic impact, cooling, performance and regulatory compliance
Data Centers, which are classified as ICPE, have to reconcile acoustic compliance, high-performance equipment cooling and service continuity, while complying with strict regulatory constraints. Noise pollution, thermal management of servers and equipment, and the reliability of installations are major challenges right from the design phase.
AXILAB supports Data Center builders and operators with a comprehensive approach that includes acoustic and aeraulic studies AND solutions. Thanks to tailor-made solutions, AXILAB guarantees to reduce noise impact, optimize cooling and secure the operation of critical equipment, while ensuring the site’s classified compliance.
Controlling the acoustic impact of data center construction (ICPE)
The construction of ICPE-classified data centers meets a dual challenge: complying with environmental noise regulations and ensuring optimum cooling of IT equipment.
To secure its project, a Data Center builder asked AXILAB to define a solution that would simultaneously meet acoustic and aeraulic requirements, right from the design phase, particularly with regard to the impact of outdoor air coolers.

Reducing the acoustic impact of a Data Center generator (ICPE)
Generators are essential to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the servers housed in the Data Centers. However, this equipment can be noisy and compromise the acoustic compliance of the ICPE classified site.
In order to deal with the noise generated by a Data Center’s generator set, a project owner entrusted AXILAB with the task of bringing the installation into compliance, while optimizing the aeraulic performance of the exhaust system and engine cooling.

Data Center cooling optimization (ICPE)
Proper cooling of equipment is a major issue for data centers. Any airflow failure can cause servers to overheat, shortening their lifespan and compromising the availability of the IT network – a risk that is incompatible with the site’s service continuity requirements.
To secure the thermal operation of a building, a client calls on AXILAB to ensure that the installations meet operational and regulatory constraints.
